You know you’re a mom when the smallest of squeaks wakes you from a dead sleep!
You know you’re a mom when you drive with one hand on the steering wheel and one reaching back to break up a fight… never swerving in the meantime.
You know you’re a mom when you can shower in 3 minutes flat while a child sits banging on the door yelling, MOM! MOM! MOM! MOM!
You know you’re a mom when you climb into the back of a van on a road trip to feed a hungry baby. Risking your safety, and definitely your comfort, so your baby can stay in their car seat.
You know you’re a mom when you sit awake at night thinking of creative ways to get a sick child to take their meds.
You know you’re a mom when you pray for friends to come into your child’s life even when you yourself feel alone.
You know you’re a mom when you spend more hours on your knees for your kids in a given week than you did in labor birthing them.
You know you’re a mom when you cry just thinking about the day when your child walks down the aisle to marry the person of their dreams.
You know you’re a mom when you didn’t just cry, but shook uncontrollably when your child said, “I DO” at that alter.
And for some, they don’t have biological children. But God has blessed them with the passion for spiritual children. And like physical mother’s
They hear a hurting soul no matter how quiet the squeak.
They can drive with one hand on the steering wheel, and one hand holding yours never swerving in the meantime.
They can shower one with love in 3 minutes flat while a child sits on their lap yelling MOM MOM MOM!
They will climb to the highest mountain (or to the back of a van) to feed a hungry soul, no matter how uncomfortable it may be for them.
They sit awake at night thinking of creative ways to get a spiritually sick follower to read the Bible.
They pray for friends to come into one’s life, even when they themselves may feel alone.
They spend more hours on their knees for souls than there are kids in the neighborhood.
They cry just thinking of the day when their spiritual child walks down the streets of gold to unite with Jesus Himself.
They don’t just cry, but shake uncontrollably when this spiritual child says, “Yes, Jesus, I give you my all!”
God blesses us all with the calling of Motherhood. Whether it be with precious little babies born to us naturally, or precious souls born to us spiritually. You don’t have to carry a child naturally in the womb to be called Mother. Caring for the biological, and the spiritual is a blessing from God. We are both striving to raise God fearing children to join the kingdom of God, and for that, I say HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! To the mother who aches for their children to come to know Christ, and to the woman who gives of herself to pour into the lives of those that are seeking. Happy mother’s day! It is a great calling, and God will bless us as we continue on in faith! Keep working, Mamas, and have a Happy Happy You Day!
